Kurzweil PC4

The Kurzweil PC4 builds on its popular predecessor, the PC3, with many improvements in the form of a hammer-action keyboard, 256-voice polyphony, a 16-track sequencer, and nine rotary potentiometers added to the sliders to make the controller easier to control. The manufacturers have also responded to the popular Retro trend by adding a new FM Engine to the piano, which will allow the import of FM Sys Ex files from the 1980s and 1990s. Last but not least, it will be possible to connect a flat ribbon cable and the high-resolution colour LCD display has also been improved.

The instrument features a sound bank of extremely realistic V.A.S.T. PC4 piano engine sounds. For synthesizer lovers, there's the Kore 64 bank, which also includes electric guitar, drum and percussion sounds. These will greatly expand your sound palette.

Another equally famous bank is KB3 ToneReal Organs. This builds on the classic Hammond, Vox and Farfisa organs. You can fine-tune these instruments to your exact liking with nine physical drawbars.

All of the sounds mentioned are neatly divided into 16 categories, each of which has its own button to instantly bring up the category: Piano 1 and 2, El. Piano 1 and 2, Pop Keys, Clavier, Organ, Brass, Strings, Voices, Synths, Pads, Guitar, Bass, Drums and Percussion.

The effects engine also offers plenty of possibilities. You will find hundreds of reverbs, choruses, flangers, delays, phasers, distortions, rotating speakers and much more. Also included is a Master Equalizer and Multiband Compressor.

Kurzweil PC4 allows you to layer and split different combinations of settings: 16 independently assigned sound zones and 16 assignable arpeggiators. The number of programmable physical controls is also interesting. One sustain/switch pedal and a USB cable are included.

On the back we also find a USB output for external memory storage and a USB interface for connecting to a PC/Mac for firmware updates or use as MIDI keys. In addition, the software editor allows you to edit all the functionality of the instrument.
