Korg SQ-64

Connectivity

Despite its compact size, the SQ-64 has unparalleled connectivity options, making it easy to connect, control and use all your analogue and digital equipment.

MIDI IN (x1) and OUT (x2), micro USB type B, Sync IN & OUT, 3 melody tracks, each with MODULATION, PITCH and GATE outputs and a DRUM track with 8 separate trigger outputs for controlling analogue synths, EURORACK and drum machines.

Each of the Melody (x3) tracks has 16 subtracks, each with a maximum of 64 steps, and the Drum (x1) track has 16 subtracks, also with a maximum of 64 steps, which can be played, chained and edited in a variety of ways. Melodic tracks and subtracks can be edited in several modes (GATE, PITCH and MODULATION), so the information sent by the sequencer in each of these steps can be edited in many interesting ways.

The DRUM track outputs can be fine-tuned to match the polarity and voltage of the connected device.

The Sync In & Out connection allows you to seamlessly control all your other Korg devices such as the Volca series of synthesizers, Minilogue, Monologue, Minilogue XD, Prologue and many more!

The SQ-64 has 64 LED-lit button pads that allow you to not only have a complete visual overview, but to edit super-fast and enjoyable with encoders and dedicated mode buttons that will simplify and speed up your workflow. Each step has graduated illumination; the higher the modulation value, the stronger the button lights up to give you a clear picture of what's happening in the sequence.

The OLED display is crystal clear, bright and visible from any angle, so you can access all the information you need whether you're making music at home, in the studio or playing live!

The three melody tracks include a MODULATION output, so each step in your sequence can create complex modulations of your choosing, greatly expanding your options for sound creation.

It's never been easier to create polyphonic chord patterns, melodies, complex polyrhythms and modulations on the fly and record them as data on each of the 64 project slots available.

Real-time control

The SQ-64 allows you to create incredible sequences; it includes several features and modes for on-the-fly editing and real-time control of any of your devices. You can also use the Matrix pads as a keyboard, but the flexibility of the SQ-64 doesn't end there. The instrument has several memories for overall configuration (each of which can be assigned several scales and a number of other parameters):

- Keys: traditional piano layout.

- Isomorphic: notes are displayed symmetrically in lines, you can simply make the same chord pattern up and down without changing its shape.

- Octaves: one scale displayed in 3 different octaves in each line

The powerful built-in Arpeggiator is there for your instant inspiration. You can easily create and play interesting patterns from any of your software, analogue or digital synths. Free yourself in 4 alternative sequence playback modes! Reverse, Bounce, Random and Stochastic modes can be selected independently for each track while playing, adding variety and distinctiveness to your music. You can freely chain and loop all your tracks. This also makes the SQ-64 the perfect device for live playing!

Elegant, robust design

Despite its wide range of functions, controls and connections, the SQ-64 is only 18 mm thick (38 mm including knobs and rubber feet) and housed in an easily portable and elegant but robust solid aluminium body that will serve you reliably for many years

The SQ-64 comes with a variety of music software from Izotope: "Ozone Elements", with which you can not only create songs but also master them with the help of artificial intelligence, "Skoove" to help you improve your keyboard skills, "Reason Lite" DAW software, as well as software synthesizers from KORG and other brands.
