All pianists will appreciate this instrument, which boasts the precise sound of a real concert grand piano. The Korg SP-280 is also a stylish accessory that enhances your playing on stage with its design.
Main features - Thick, dynamic acoustic piano sounds that are a joy to play - Authentic classic electric piano sounds, perfect for live performances - Powerful sound system - Natural Weighted Hammer Action (NH) keyboard with simulated acoustic piano hammer mechanics - Lightweight, ideal for transport - Newly designed stand that is easy to attach - Includes stereo audio input
Rich piano sounds that are a joy to play The SP-280 offers a playing experience comparable to a traditional acoustic piano, including the fact that four different sound samples are switched according to the playing dynamics. So the sound perfectly matches your playing, whether you strum a delicate pianissimo or lean into a fortissimo. In addition, the "Grand Piano" sound reproduces the resonance that is created by pressing the pedal on a classical acoustic piano, which again gives your playing the right amount of drive.
Authentic classical electric piano sounds, perfect for live performances Special attention has been paid to the sound of the electric piano. Its sound does not only react to key presses, but also generates all the little noises typical of the original electric pianos when you play them. There are a total of six variants, containing sounds often used in pop music of the sixties and seventies, or in soul.
30 high quality sounds Including acoustic and electric piano sounds, the SP-280 contains a total of 30 high-quality sounds - you'll also find organ, strings and many more. There's Layer Mode, where two sounds can be played simultaneously, and Partner Mode, which can split the keyboard in two so that two players can play the same notes independently side by side. They can also take advantage of the SP-280's two headphone outputs.
Three effects Choose from three effects: brilliance, which adjusts the clarity of the tone, reverb, which simulates the natural reflection of sounds (reverberation) in a concert hall, and chorus.
Powerful sound system The SP-280 features two amplifiers with 2x 22 watts of power; the most in its class! And because their bass is really deep, as well as the highs nicely ringing, the sound of the amplifiers used completes the overall unique sound quality of the SP-280. Since the built-in sound system is really powerful, it will suffice on its own at smaller gigs, without the need for the usual external equipment.
Stylish design In the spirit of its predecessor, the SP-250, appreciated for its design among other things, the SP-280 continues the tradition of Korg's stylish digital pianos. Its modern curves fit perfectly into any environment, and attention has even been paid to the back to make it look good on stage. So you don't have to worry about putting it anywhere, not just with its back to the wall like other instruments.
Simulation of hammer mechanics - Natural Weighted Hammer Action (NH) The Natural Weighted Hammer Action (NH) system reproduces the same playing feel as a traditional piano equipped with a hammer action - so the keys of the lower octaves are harder, and the higher octaves are softer, just like a piano. The Key Touch Control function allows you to set three different levels of playing dynamics to tailor the keyboard to your exact needs.
Lightweight and easy to transport Because the SP-280 is designed to be taken wherever you need it, the overall weight of the SP-280 is adapted to this, at 19 kg (roughly 30% less than the SP-250).
The newly designed stand Included in the package is a durable metal stand that is easy to install.
LINE IN and LINE OUT jack You can connect a portable audio player (or similar device) to the LINE IN (stereo mini-jack) jack and output it through the SP-280 speakers. Since you can play keys at the same time as this playback, this is an ideal combination for live performances. External equipment or recording devices can be connected via the LINE OUT (phone jack) inputs.
Metronome A metronome is built-in with tempo and volume adjustment as well as some other functions.
Touch Control function This function allows you to choose from three settings to adjust the playing dynamics to suit your exact needs.
Pedal effects The instrument comes with a damper pedal whose effect varies according to the intensity of the pedal press - just like a traditional piano. You can also add a PU-2 pedal unit with two additional pedals (soft and sostenuto pedal), so that the pedal set is complete just like on acoustic pianos.
MIDI connectivity The SP-280 supports the MIDI standard. This is used to transfer musical data between electronic instruments and computers. Through MIDI, you can, for example, control other connected devices from the instrument you are playing.
