Korg Modwave Module

KORG modwave is a new wavetable synthesizer that stimulates the music production environment with its extreme sound concept. The modwave includes all the features of the modwave mkII in a compact 19" desktop/rackmount package.

The modwave module builds on the legacy of KORG's DW-8000 and transforms it into a modern monstrous synthesizer that offers incredibly deep wavetable oscillator sounds, gorgeous filters, wildly flexible modulation, unparalleled polyphony, complex pattern sequencing, and instantly satisfying hands-on control that delivers unique, powerful, and easily customizable sounds and phrases.

60 voices of polyphony, updated LFOs and other features
Like the modwave mkII, the modwave module offers a staggering 60 stereo voices of polyphony - nearly double the 32 voices of the original modwave and an unprecedented number for a wavetable synth at any price. The new 4U rack-mountable chassis has the same controls as the keyboard models, yet is easily portable and fits neatly into any studio or desktop production system. In response to user requests, all LFOs have been updated with free running, delayed start and retriggering options. A pre/post switch for the send channel reverb, new modulation sources and more have also been added. The modwave module is fully compatible with the sounds and samples of the original modwave, modwave mk II and native modwave software, as well as many excellent third-party libraries.

MIDI 2.0 and aftertouch support with polyphony
Thanks to the latest software updates, all modwave models, both hardware and software versions, now support MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange and easy access to Polyphonic Aftertouch - making them excellent companions to KORG's Keystage controller.

Rack-mount or desktop?
The modwave module is cleverly designed for desktop use or rack-mounting. The panel has been redesigned to fit a standard 19" width, and the rear panel with connectors is recessed to allow easy access to cables even when other equipment is mounted directly above the modwave. For desktop use, the brackets can be used as a stand to allow for a choice of panel angles - straighter, suitable for playing standing up, or more upright for seated studio work.

Many musicians have requested a modular version of modwave. Now that the components are available again after a long period of supply chain disruption, KORG is pleased to make this request a reality.

Free music software package
