Korg Modwave mkII

The Korg Modwave MKII is a high-end wavetable synthesizer that brings a modern reinterpretation of a classic sound with roots dating back to 1985. It newly adds essential features such as Kaoss Physics and Motion Sequencing 2.0, and compared to its predecessor you get nearly double the polyphony, expanded LFOs and more.

On the Modwave
This instrument stands out for its ability to create rich and complex sounds thanks to deep wavetable oscillators and gorgeous analog filters that add warmth and character to the sound. There are over 200 wavetables each containing up to 64 waveforms. With over 30 modifiers, you can change their basic character and process them in real time through 13 morph types. Create new hybrid sounds from any two wavetables using the unique A/B Blend feature in real time. That's over 230 million sound variations out of the box, and that's before you even add modulation. Numbers aren't everything, sometimes you need to know other options, bringing other workflows. That's why it's possible to expand your palette by importing new wavetables using Editor/Librarian software, or try the many free and commercial wavetable libraries in the standard Serum format.

Analog filters
Add vintage character to your sounds with aggressive MS-20 Lowpass or Highpass filters, powerful and pleasant-sounding Polysix Lowpass filters, shape and refine your sound with a complete collection of resonant 2-pole and 4-pole Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass and Band Reject filters, or take advantage of KORG's unique Multi Filter, which creates modulatable mixes of multiple modes simultaneously.

Modulation
Modwave is full of controls that invite you to explore. Oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs and effects are all easily accessible on the front panel. Four programmable Mod Knobs allow you to save results as new sounds. The Hold button allows unlimited holding of notes or chords. Kaoss Physics, Pitch Bend and Modulation Wheels provide multiple dimensions of expression. Most controls can be modulated, including the Motion Sequence step settings.

Kaoss Physics
Who doesn't know the now iconic Kaoss Pad, which has seen several reincarnations over two decades. The implementation of the sophisticated XY touch controller is also represented here. The result is an interactive controller that amplifies your physical gestures and transforms them into complex musical results. Needless to say, it's great fun too.

Motion Sequencing 2.0
Motion Sequencing 2.0 divides the timing, pitch, shape, and four sets of values of a step sequence into "lanes," each with its own loop start and end. This allows for a deeper and more customizable level of phrase recording and modulation. With each step, the individual lanes combine to create an original output and can be modulated separately, resulting in organic, ever-changing sounds.

Effects unit
Modwave offers excellent effects ready to support your production Each layer has three custom effects, plus a master reverb and parametric EQ. In addition to standard effects like compressors, EQs, choruses and delays, the unit includes unique processors like Wave Shaper, Talking Modulator, Reverse Delay and more. It also includes modeling effects including VOX guitar amps, multi-head tape echo and a collection of classic guitar pedals.

Set lists
With easy organization of Performances and instant access during performances or rehearsals, your presets are always well sorted. Smooth Sound Transitions ensures that previously played sounds and effects reverberate naturally, even when you select a new sound.

Software
Modwave comes with a diverse collection of music software to help you take your production to the next level. You'll get Isotope Ozone Elements, Skoove to improve your keyboard playing skills, and a variety of synth software from KORG and other brands.
