Korg Electribe Sampler RD

The Electribe series allows you to play detailed pre-prepared pattterns, which you can spice up and enliven with various intuitive functions. Roughly ten years after the introduction of the Electribe SX, the Electribe series now features a new sampler designed to be quickly understood by beginners, while bringing a wealth of exciting possibilities to experienced users of the series. The Electribe is ideal for both music production and live performance.

The Electribe sampler features the latest KORG technology
The new Electribe sampler adopts cutting-edge technology from such successful models as the KingKORG, Kaossilator, Kaoss Pad and Taktile. The internal memory can store 250 paterns, including preset paterns that are ideal for today's dance music scene. You'll also find support for polyphonic playback, which is essential for complex musical styles such as house music.

Step sequencer
With the 16 pads located on the front panel, you can create original patterning in a completely intuitive way while you listen. You can use these pads as a keyboard to record phrases in real time, or you can use them to enter individual notes step by step. You can then modify the patterns you create in various ways, for example by using the "step jump" function, taken from the Volca series, or by changing the "last step" parameter to adjust the length of individual parts, etc.

The "motion sequence" function allows you to capture the movement of controls and buttons and record them in the pattern you are creating.

You can assign both synth sounds and drums to each of the 16 pads. So you can assign different drum sounds to each pad to create a truly complex rhythmic pattern.

Intuitive beat making with Trigger pads and Touch pad
The Kaossilator's well-known "touch scale" function allows anyone to play without fake notes, just move your fingers over the touch pad. There are also trigger pads, made popular by the Taktile, which are used for easy creation of musical phrases, and can also be used, for example, when programming drums. The touch sensitivity (dynamics) of these pads can be turned on or off by adjusting the settings.

Hybrid synth engine with sampling and modulation
KORG has equipped the Electribe Sampler with a synthesizer engine that will help maximize the player's musical creativity. In addition to the sound engine using your own unique sounds (samples), there are several types of analog modelling sound engines to use, for example, when creating synth basses. You can use up to 999 preset or custom samples, the maximum sample length (when mono sampling) is 270 seconds. Upon delivery, the instrument comes with a diverse collection of rhythm phrases and loops, percussion and other samples (including the results of collaborations with Sample Magic, Loopmasters, Prime Loops).

Sound modulation can sometimes be quite complicated, but we've simplified it by breaking it down into three main parameters: you simply select a pattern that specifies an effect and the target of that effect, and then for that pattern you further adjust the speed and range of the effect according to your needs.

Advanced sample options with Time Slice and Resampling
The "Time Slice" function can split a musical phrase into sub-fragments, so that when you subsequently play that phrase at a different tempo, there are essentially no changes to its sound. Moreover, the sound of these sub-slices can be used separately, for example by assigning them to steps or parts. In addition, you can also apply effects to the samples and then resample the whole thing, where you can also change the pitch or modulation using the buttons during this resampling.

Even more creative potential: sample effects and Groove
The new Electribe Sampler offers different effects such as compression or overdrive for each part, giving you really tight control over the final sound down to the smallest detail. In addition, you can easily apply the groove function to each part using preset patterns.

The master effects can be controlled via the touch pad, as with the Kaoss Pad, and you'll also find completely specific effects such as the "Vinyl Break" taken from the Kaoss Pad series, or brand new effects such as "Seq Reverse" and "Odd Stepper", which you'll appreciate especially during live performances. In addition, insert effects can be used for individual parts, further expanding the possibilities of complex sound design.

Other features include a "pattern set" allowing you to change patterns by pressing the trigger pads, and an "event recording" function which can be used to record this. In addition to MIDI IN/OUT, a "Sync IN/OUT" interface is also available for synchronization with the Volca, Monotribe or MS-20 mini series. Power is also available on six AA batteries, so you can take the Electribe Sampler and play it really anywhere.

New ways of working: compatibility with Ableton Live
Transform your initial inspiration into real musical ideas. KORG has teamed up with the German brand Ableton to bring new ways of working, combining both hardware and software to create music. The new Electribe Sampler is therefore compatible with the popular Ableton Live application - it can convert each of the phrases into audio files and these files can then be simply uploaded as a so-called project file to Ableton Live, where you can work with them further.
