The Kawai MP11 offers the sound of three concert grand pianos (SK-EX, SK-5 and EX), a superb Grand Feel wooden keyboard, a wide range of electric pianos and other instruments, a wide range of parameter settings and a control panel tailored for live playing.
Precise playing is assured by the Grand Feel keyboard, which has ivory wood keys, three sensors for totally accurate sensing, a let-off mechanism and weights to make the lower keys more rigid, similar to an acoustic piano.
The sound of the concert grand has been carefully recorded note-by-note, and Harmonic Imaging technology mimics the interplay of the individual components of the concert grand when the keys are pressed, such as the resonance of the strings and more. The overall sound is therefore very complex and true to life, thanks to an internal memory that can hold extra-long samples that bring out even the smallest details.
All parameters can be tuned down to the smallest detail thanks to the virtual technician in Smart Mode. Even more precise options are offered in Advanced Mode, where you can use the iPad app to adjust the strength of the keys, fine-tune (or detune) individual strings, or determine the degree of the sound effect of pressing and releasing a key.
There are MIDI inputs and outputs, a line input with volume control, a GFP-30 pedal with a three-foot foot pedal, and a durable metal chassis with wooden sides. A music stand is also included.
