The Jet JS-40 Metallic Burst electric guitar is part of the Elite Series, which offers the best of the Jet brand. The alder body of the guitar is decorated with Metallic Burst finish. The maple neck (quartersawn) is glued to an Indian rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two frets. The heat treatment of the neck makes the wood more stable while giving it the look/aura of a neck/fretboard that has been played for years. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by pearl position dots (Abalone).
The combination of custom wound pickups, i.e. a cobbler humbucker and two single-coil pickups with Alnico magnets, gives the guitar a wide variety of sounds that will be appreciated in many genres of music. The standard volume, tone shutter and five-position pickup switch controls are complemented by a split-coil switch that turns the full sound of the cob humbucker into a single-coil.
The strings are mounted in Wilkinson WJ-55 tuning machines and Wilkinson WV6SB tremolo. The stylish look of the guitar is accentuated by the three-layer white pickguard.
The guitar comes in a gig bag.
