USA Signature Jeff Loomis Kelly Black is the American signature model of electric guitar of Jeff Loomis, an elite metal shredder known for his work in the American prog metal band Nevermore and his current involvement in Arch Enemy.
It is a Jackson design Kelly, i.e. a variation of the Explorer shape. The guitar's construction consists of ash wings, a sandblasted ash top and a through-neck made of a single piece of maple (quartersawn) reinforced with graphite bracing. Twenty-four Jumbo-size stainless steel frets divide the ebony fingerboard surface. Its radius flattens towards the body - allowing both comfortable riffing at the zero fret and comfortable ultra-fast shred at higher positions. Orientation on the fingerboard, even in the darkest corners of the stage, is made easier by mother-of-pearl position markers (Mother-of-Pearl Sharkfin) and side luminescent dots (Luminlay).
Two Seymour Duncan Jeff Loomis Signature Blackouts humbuckers give the guitar an aggressive dynamic sound with great single note articulation even at higher distortion levels. A single knob adjusts the volume, and a standard three-position pickup switch is available.
The strings are housed in Sperzel's tuning die-cast drives and Floyd Rose 1500 Series tremolo, which you can use to add impressive sound effects to your playing. Tuning stability with frequent use of the lever is guaranteed by locks on the zero fret.
