Jackson's history dates back to 1970, intersecting with the turbulent rise of hard music styles rooted in metal. Metal players immediately took to these instruments and to this day Jackson guitars are designed especially for them. Legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne) has a hand in this, as he and Jackson designers drew the Concorde guitar design on a paper napkin in the early 1980s, redefining the sound of the metal guitar forever.
The JS series guitars offer a classic Jacksonian look and feel enriched with a host of modern features. Getting a Jackson guitar has simply never been easier.
The body of this guitar is made of poplar. The maple neck has a graphite reinforced brace and is bolted to the body. It's perfect for fast playing, as is the amaranth fingerboard, whose compound radius flattens out towards the body. The neck is thus perfectly suited for playing riffs in lower positions and wild shredding in higher positions. There are 24 jumbo frets. The gauge of the instrument is 648 mm, the width of the fretboard is 43 mm.
The strings pass through the body via a fixed bridge with adjustable string height. On the other side, the strings are mounted in Jackson's Die-Cast tuning machines. The hardware is black.
Two high output humbuckers take care of sound pickup. They can be switched between using a three-position switch, while volume and tone controls are used to further shape the tone.
