The JS series offers affordable electric guitars with all the typical Jackson features you associate with the brand and various forms of rock and metal music. Specifically, the Dinky Minion JS1XM models are distinguished from traditional Superstrats by their shorter, two-thirds scale. This makes them an ideal choice of instrument for children, players with smaller fingers or, in general, lovers of more compact shapes, who will get their hands on a full-size metal instrument with a modern design.
The body of this guitar is made of poplar. A maple fingerboard fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets is glued to the bolted maple neck. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by black Sharkfin-type position markers.
The guitar's two proprietary high-output humbuckers provide the guitar with the juicy sound much needed in metal and rock music. Volume potentiometers, tone controls and a three-position pickup switch are used for sonic adjustments. Precise tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by mounting the strings in the company's die-cast drives and through a solid fingerboard through the body of the instrument.
For several decades, electric guitars from the American brand Jackson have appealed primarily to musicians from metal, metal/core, HC or djent bands who profess a loud sound with a more or less diluted dose of aggression, as evidenced by the company's list of players. However, the radical metal design can also enchant adventurous musicians from the completely opposite musical spectrum, as evidenced, for example, by Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote, who in turn clearly prove that the sound of Jackson instruments can make its way into genres built on a clean, warm, sound.
