The S series of the Japanese brand Ibanez presents electric guitars of the Superstrat type with typical cut-outs and shaped top of the light mahogany body.
The body of the SML721-RGC six-string multiscale guitar is made of solid nyatoh wood. A rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-four Jumbo JESCAR EVOgold frets is glued to a five-piece maple and walnut neck with a Wizard profile. The currently popular Multi-scale concept, i.e. fitting the fingerboard with angled frets, gives the instrument a variable menzaura (635 mm - 648 mm) and optimal tension. In the opinion of some musicians, it also allows a more natural movement of the hand on the fingerboard. Orientation on the fingerboard surface is facilitated by offset position dots and luminescent dots on the side.
Two Q58 humbuckers developed for the needs of headless guitars give the instrument a clearly defined sound balanced across the entire frequency spectrum. The dyna-MIX 10 pickup switching system (a five-position blade switch and a two-position alter switch) offers ten different pickup connection options, where you can easily switch between humbucker and single-coil pickup sounds in standard and power tap modes.
Tuning stability is guaranteed by the string mounting in Gotoh MG-T locking mechanisms and a mono-rail tailpiece with separate saddles that provide each string with optimal vibration transfer.
Seven, eight, nine-string and multiscale electric guitars are firmly associated with the Ibanez brand. These innovative designs, which over time have become the absolute standard, are brought together by the Ibanez Axe Design Lab series.
