Electric guitars from the RG series of the Japanese brand Ibanez are among the most famous Super ST instruments. Their flatter, faster neck, lighter weight and distinctive cutouts with stylishly pointed horns for easy movement across the entire fingerboard are the reasons for their extreme popularity among rock and metal guitarists.
The body of the RG80F-IPT eight-string guitar is made of meranti wood. A rosewood fingerboard with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets is glued to a neck composed of five pieces of maple and walnut. The narrower fast profile of the "Wizard II" neck is sure to suit all fast players. Orientation around the fingerboard surface is facilitated by white position dots.
Two Fishman Fluence active humbuckers with ceramic and Alnico magnets give the guitar a dynamic aggressive sound with minimal noise and excellent tone articulation even on the thickest strings, ideal for use in modern strains of metal and core styles. Standard sound adjustments are made with volume potentiometers, tone controls and a three-position pickup switch. A switch located between the potentiometers allows you to switch between two pickup voicings.
Tuning stability is guaranteed by the anchoring of the strings in the company's Die-Cast mechanisms and through a solid bridge through the body of the instrument. The nice workmanship is accentuated by the hardware in gold finish.
