Electric guitars from the RG series of the Japanese brand Ibanez are among the most famous instruments of this type. Their flatter, faster neck, lighter weight and distinctive cutouts with stylishly pointed horns for easy movement across the entire fingerboard are the reasons for their extreme popularity among rock and metal guitarists.
The body of the RG470DX-SFM is made of meranti. The fast maple neck with Wizard III profile is glued to a jatoba fingerboard fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets. Position markers in the Sharktooth design facilitate orientation on the fingerboard.
The combination of two proprietary passive humbuckers with ceramic magnets and Alnico single-coil pickups gives the guitar a balanced sound with a fast bass response and punchy mids, which you'll appreciate when riffing faster. Standard sound adjustments are made with volume and tone potentiometers and a five-position pickup switch that offers split-coil humbucker configurations at positions 2 and 4.
The strings are housed in the company's tuning machines and Edge-Zero II double-turn tremolo, which you use to embellish your playing with impressive sound effects. Locks on the zero fret ensure tuning stability when using the tremolo lever frequently.
