The Ibanez EWP14-OPN acoustic guitar ukulele combines the elements of acoustic guitars in the form of metal strings, 42 mm fret width, guitar headstock shape or lower body cutaway (Florentine Cutaway) with the compact body and short menzatura of tenor ukuleles. This makes it a great travel companion for musicians used to the dimensions of acoustic guitars.
The body of the ukulele is made of overmoulded ovangkol. A purpleheart wood fingerboard with nineteen frets is glued to the okoumé neck. Maple position dots on the fingerboard facilitate orientation. Stability of tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the fitting of the strings in the company's chrome die-cast gears with a 15:1 gear ratio and purpleheart headstock. Ibanez Advantage pegs offer the advantages of easy handling and a firm string attachment over standard models. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by the double-sided body binding and pearl rosette (Abalone).
