The JSM is the signature semi-hollowbody guitar model of John Scofield, a guitarist known for his solo work and collaborations with countless famous jazz musicians. It features some of the same elements as the Artcore Expressionist series.
Two Ibanez Super 58 passive humbuckers with alnico magnets offer a warm, balanced sound with excellent dynamic response. The added switch can be used to tap the neck pickup coils or connect it in parallel.
The body of the instrument is made of laminated maple. To the neck made of three pieces of maple and exotic nyatoh wood is glued an ebony fingerboard with position blocks with an impressive design (Abalone combined with imitation mother-of-pearl). Medium-sized frets with modified edges give the left hand a completely smooth movement across the fingerboard surface. Tuning stability and good sustain are guaranteed by the solid Gibraltar Artist headstock and bone zero fret, while the Quick Change III string changer allows quick and easy string changes. The stylish look is accentuated by the binding, black pickguard, gold hardware and logo on the headstock.
The guitar comes in a case.
