The Ibanez GRGR221PA-AQB is an electric guitar in the Super ST design from the GIO series, which offers affordable instruments suitable for beginning players. Even with these entry-level series, care is taken to ensure that the look, sound and playability of the guitars offer players maximum satisfaction.
The solid okoumé body is decorated with an Aqua Burst finish accentuated by a poplar root pattern (not a real poplar veneer). The maple neck is glued to a purpleheart/amaranth fingerboard with twenty-four jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by unconventionally reversed white position markers in Sharktooth design.
Two IBZ passive humbuckers with ceramic magnets give the guitar the necessary sonic punch. Standard adjustments can be made using the volume potentiometer, tone shutter and five-position toggle switch (position 2 plays the inner neck pickup coil only, position 4 plays the inner neck pickup coil and the outer neck pickup coil). The strings are anchored in the company's tuning machines and through a fixed tailpiece through the body of the guitar.
