The Ibanez EWP12EWB-OPN guitar ukulele model offers familiar acoustic guitar features combined with an ultra-compact body and short scale. This makes it a great travel companion for musicians accustomed to the dimensions of acoustic guitars.
The body of the ukulele is made of acacia plywood. A purpleheart wood fingerboard with nineteen frets is glued to the okoumé neck. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by maple position dots, the lower cut-out of the body provides a good fingerboard grip even on higher positions of the fingerboard. The strings are mounted in the company's die-cast guitar-type mechanisms and purpleheart fingerboard. The nice workmanship is accentuated by the perimeter body binding, pearl rosette (abalone) and the company logo on the headstock.
Ibanez AEQ2U active electronics with a two-band equalizer and integrated tuner take care of the ukulele's sound system. The instrument comes in a gig bag.
