Electro-Acoustic Bass Guitar / HN129082
This bass is one of the instruments in the AEB model series, a sub-series of the AE series, the AEB is a bass variant "themed" on the AEL acoustic guitars - it is the largest body ever made in the Ibanez workshops. This directly qualifies them to be played live, both acoustically and when plugged into a rig. Of course, these instruments have very good workmanship and sound that you would expect from much more expensive instruments.
The front plate of the bass body is made of spruce, the sides and back plate are made of sapele. The 813 mm neck is made of maple, while purpleheart wood was used for the fingerboard and the fingerboard. The headstock is shaped to optimally transmit the vibrations of the string to achieve the best possible sound. Around the sound hole is a mother-of-pearl inlay, the soundboard has a bright trim.
The saddle and zero frets are made of Ivorex II imitation bone, which is stronger and more durable than bone and therefore guarantees perfect transmission of all frequencies. Characteristic are especially crystal highs and solid bass with a slight loss of midrange. These are the optimal conditions for amplification in the apparatus. The hardware is chrome plated, Ibanez Smooth Tuner AS drives are used. D'Addario EXP strings are factory strung.
The amplification is taken care of by an Ibanez USP underdrive piezo pickup along with an Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp, which includes a tuner and Shape control in addition to a two-band EQ. The signal can also be routed from the 6.3 mm Jack connectors.
