XTOMP is a new generation pedal effect from the Asian brand Hotone, which can turn into almost any effect box you can think of or imagine. Forget connecting cables to your PC/tablet - XTOMP makes it easy. You connect via Bluetooth Smart to your phone's iOS or Android apps (iOS, Android and PC apps are all free to download), and from their extensive database of effects, apparatus simulations and cabs, you can then download individual effects/simulations to XTOMP (one effect at a time).
The application library offers a wide range of virtual effects of all types (distortion, overdrive, dynamics, filter, delay, reverb, modulation, etc.), so-called "combo" effects, i.e. two effects in one chassis, and apparatus and cabinet simulations. You will encounter both familiar box designs with a clear reference in the modified name, as well as original Hotone designs.
The six backlit knobs provide a sufficient platform for even more complex pedal effects models. The knobs and their functions always replicate the design of the original, i.e. if the master has three knobs, only three XTOMP knobs are active, clearly distinguished from the inactive ones by colour indication. The sound quality is guaranteed by 24-bit A/D/A converters and CDCM modeling technology, i.e. Comprehensive Dynamic Circuit Modeling, which, unlike fixed modeling algorithms, responds to every change in the circuit.
Firmware upgrades and editing/uploading effects from a PC application are guaranteed by the USB interface. The mono/stereo I/O option with relay true bypass (L mono) and analog buffered bypass (stereo) circuitry is a delight. All electronics are housed in a zinc alloy chassis.
