The Metropolis Classic EQ electroacoustic guitar from Canadian brand Godin offers a large resonant body and the sound of popular "western" guitars, i.e. dreadnought type guitars.
The front of the guitar is made of solid Sitka spruce, which is complemented by solid mahogany on the back and sides. The combination of the solid woods guarantees a resonant sound, plus the instrument will grow in tone as the years go by. Glued to the mahogany neck is a fingerboard made of modern richlite composite material fitted with twenty-one frets. Orientation around the fingerboard surface is facilitated by position dots and a distinctive inlay on the twelfth fret.
The strings are mounted in the company's open tuning machines with a 16:1 gear ratio and an ebony fingerboard. The stylish design of the instrument is accentuated by the body binding, simple rosette, company logo on the headstock and pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell.
The sound is captured by an LR Baggs Element sub-coil pickup, while the preamp with Volume and Tone controls is discreetly placed in the guitar's soundhole. The guitar comes in a gig bag.
