The A series offers instruments that fully reflect Godin's philosophy - they are atypical models of hybrid electroacoustic instruments with unusual sound possibilities and interesting design. The advantage of these instruments is that they combine the sound of acoustic guitars or basses, the comfort of playing electric instruments and often much more. And as is usual with Godin, precision workmanship, the use of quality materials and great sound are a given.
The body of this instrument is made of chambered Laurentian linden with a spruce top, which makes the sound very natural, colourful, balanced and lively. The bolt-on neck is made of maple and features a fretless fingerboard made of eco-friendly Richlite composite. As far as technical information is concerned, the gauge is 864 millimeters, the fingerboard radius is 16 inches, and the width of the zero fret is 46.3 millimeters.
Godin has used a dual sound pickup system here. Firstly, there are sub-cubic piezo pickups, which are complemented by a specially developed preamplifier with a volume control and a three-band equalizer. The second way is the humbucker Lace Sensor located at the headstock, where you can work with the volume and tone control. Each pickup has a separate output jack, but you can also use a common output. Thanks to the 13-pin connector, the instrument can be used with Roland bass synthesizers without any problems.
The instrument's fingerboard is made of ebony, while the strings on the other side lead through a TUSQ graphite fretboard to high-quality tuning machines.
