Gibson Les Paul Studio electric guitars offer a fusion of essential Les Paul design with "player-friendly" features such as a lightweight body or push/pull humbuckers. The lack of decorative features makes them more affordable than higher-end LP models and makes them popular with active musicians and studio players alike. Gibson Les Paul Studio guitars simply belong on stage, not in a showcase.
The mahogany body of the Les Paul Studio Ebony is covered by a carved maple top. Thanks to the body's resonance chambers (Ultra Modern Weight Relief treatment), the instrument is considerably lighter than classic LP models, while retaining the typical Les Paul sound and feel. The thin finish in the form of a nitrocellulose lacquer allows the guitar's wood to breathe and enhances the instrument's sonic qualities.
Glued to the mahogany neck is a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl facilitate orientation on the fingerboard. The fast Slim Taper neck profile and the twelve-inch fingerboard radius guarantee excellent playability and good finish at all fretboard positions.
Burstbucker Pro humbuckers with Alnico V magnets give the guitar a fuller fatter sound with more drive than PAF pickups inspired by standard Burstbucker models. Adjust the character of the sound with two volume potentiometers (separate for each pickup), two tone controls and a three-position pickup switch. Push/Pull volume controls split the pickup coils and change the character of the sound to single-coil.
Stable tuning is assured by mounting the strings in Vintage Deluxe tuning machines with Keystone pegs and through a Nashville Tune-O-Matic aluminum headstock in the truss rod. The stylish design of the instrument is accentuated by chrome hardware and a black pickguard.
The guitar comes in a soft shell case with accessories.
