The CS 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Light Aged Cherry Teaburst is a Gibson Custom Shop model from the Murphy Lab Collection, which brings all-new guitars with the look, feel and craftsmanship of the vintage originals.
Gibson Custom Shop's 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue is not only an homage to the original models from the late 1950s, but it is an authentic clone. From the laser-scanned dimensions, to the materials used, to the shades of sunburst finish, every element is captured in minute detail. That's one of the reasons why this is the best replica of a 1959 Les Paul Standard electric guitar from the Gibson Custom Shop in its 25 years of existence.
The one-piece mahogany body is adorned with a two-piece figured maple top and a spectacular Cherry Tea Burst finish. The Murphy Lab Light Aged finish, along with the subtly "stained" finish of the hardware, successfully simulate decades of playing/light wear, giving the guitar the look and feel of the originals from Gibson's golden era. Glued to the mahogany neck with a period "50s Rounded Medium C" profile is a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two frets (Authentic Medium-Jumbo). Position blocks (Cellulose Nitrate Trapezoid) facilitate orientation on the fingerboard surface. Two Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers without waxing (Unpotted) take care of the guitar's sound. The strings are mounted in Kluson Single Line tuning machines and through the ABR-1 bridge in the stringers.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
