Focusrite RedNet AM2

The Focusrite AM2 is a high-end stereo headphone amplifier and line output interface designed for Dante network monitoring.

The RedNet AM2 is a compact stereo monitoring unit that combines headphone and balanced line outputs to monitor Dante network signals wherever they are needed.

The RedNet AM2 features a 6.3 mm headphone jack output on the front panel and a pair of rear symmetrical line outputs with XLR connectors for connecting monitors or other applications. RedNet AM2 can be powered via Ethernet (PoE) or an external DC power supply (included). RedNet AM2 is ideal for adding headphone outputs to a studio system and also offers solutions for education, live sound reinforcement and broadcast.

High-performance headphone amplifier
The headphone amplifier is designed for a wide range of headphones and can build even high impedance (up to 600 ohms) headphones to substantial levels, making the AM2 unit suitable for use on a noisy stage as well as at the front of a hall or studio. The XLR line outputs have software switchable reference levels of 0 dBFS +18 or +24 dBu.

Excellent D/A conversion quality
The RedNet AM2 incorporates a dual-channel Dante receiver based on Audinate's 'Ultimo' hardware and features high-quality digital-to-analog conversion at standard sampling rates from 44.1 to 96 kHz with both outputs offering better than 118 dB dynamic range. The unit can be clocked either internally or via the Dante Network Master. Two large volume control knobs are provided for the headphone and line output levels, with the latter featuring a mute button with corresponding LED. Other indicators show the presence of power, network and signal. The signal indicator lights red at 0 dBFS, orange at -6 dBFS and green at -42 dBFS on both channels, while the network indicator lights when a valid network connection is present on port 1 or 2.


Mounting options
Housed in a rugged die-cast aluminum chassis, the compact unit features non-slip feet and can either be securely placed on a flat surface or mounted to the top of a microphone stand using the standard 3/8" BSW threaded clamp built into the base.

Full Dante interoperability
Like the entire RedNet product line, RedNet AM2 works seamlessly and fully with any other Dante audio-over-IP network components and infrastructure. Patching and interconnection can be managed using the Dante Controller on a Mac or PC.
