Focusrite Red 16Line

Thunderbolt Audio Interface / HN256558
The Focusrite Red 16line is a state-of-the-art 1U rack-mounted audio interface with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity that offers a total of 64 input and 64 output channels, 2 Red Evolution microphone preamps, independent output monitoring, 16 symmetrical line inputs and 16 outputs on Sub-D 25 terminals; 32 channels of Dante I/O; 16 channels of ADAT I/O (at 48 kHz) and stereo S/PDIF input and output. There is a comprehensive Word Clock interface with BNC coaxial connectors. Like Red's other interfaces, it features professional 24 bit/192 kHz A/D and D/A conversion for uncompromising master-quality audio recording and playback. The 119 dB A/D and 121 dB D/A converters have been expertly selected and calibrated by Focusrite to provide the best balance between sound quality, dynamic range and conversion latency.

Red Evolution 's two digitally controlled microphone preamps are the result of Focusrite's decades of impeccable attention to detail in audio hardware design. Each preamplifier provides up to 63 dB of ultra-clean gain, individual phantom power, high-pass filter, phase rotation adjustment, and the ability to stereo link the two channels. The switchable Air mode mimics the sound profile of Focusrite's famous ISA 110 input module, breathing life into every signal it touches.

Focusrite Red Range is the best choice for professionals working in Pro Tools | HD and other DAWs - on Mac and Windows computers. With mini-DigiLink and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, you can instantly switch between Pro Tools | HD and other DAWs without having to reconfigure audio settings. Simply change the host mode either in the RedNet Control software or via the front panel and change DAWs in seconds. This ability to quickly switch between production environments means you'll never lose a moment of inspiration and keep your clients waiting.

The Red 16Line features the latest Thunderbolt 3 interface implementation with Focusrite's proven Thunderbolt drivers for ultra-low latency and solid performance. This speed provides the flexibility to use DAW plug-ins in real-time, so you can use the processing power of your DAW to monitor and record virtual instruments. With two standard Thunderbolt 3 ports, you can also daisy chain Thunderbolt devices such as third-party plug-in accelerators, hard drives, processor drives, and Thunderbolt hubs. In addition to Thunderbolt 3 and Pro Tools HD connectivity, the Red 16Line's built-in Dante connectivity enables it to communicate with industry-standard Audio-over-IP from hundreds of manufacturers. Dante makes it easy to expand the system, enabling new workflows and discovering rapid system expansion using Focusrite's RedNet interface or third-party devices from manufacturers such as Neve, Yamaha and DigiCo.

The Red 16Line has built-in output control for mono, stereo and multi-channel monitoring environments up to 7.1. Compatibility with the Focusrite RedNet R1 desktop remote allows even greater flexibility and customized presentations for immersive monitoring environments including Dolby Atmos®.

Additional features of the Red 16Line include detailed display via three LCD displays for highly accurate level measurement for any input or output block, as well as main monitor and headphone outputs. The two premium quality headphone outputs are powerful enough to deliver loud and clear sound even on high impedance headphones. Two instrument inputs on the front panel ensure that you always have instant access to quickly connect, for example, a guitar or bass guitar.

On the computer, you'll appreciate RedNet Control 2 - a software mixing console with a hardware-centric workflow designed to allow quick setup of simple and complex monitoring and routing configurations, along with remote control of Red Evolution preamps. This allows for better integration with RedNet devices via Dante.

Red 16Line comes with a software package that brings the classic Focusrite sound to your DAW. Brainworx bx_console Focusrite SC is a Mac and PC plug-in that faithfully captures the sound, feel and style of the original Focusrite studio console. The Red 2 and Red 3 (EQ and compressor) plug-ins are AAX/AU/VST compatible reproductions of the original and much-loved Red Range analogue hardware that many professionals still rely on today. Also included is the LANDR SW - AI-based mastering tool (two-month subscription), Softube Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 - modeling of the iconic amp, XLN Audio Addictive Keys Studio Grand Piano - virtual instrument, XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2: Studio Rock - virtual instrument, Antares Auto-Tune Access for vocal tuning, Relab's LX480 Essentials - Reverb, Native Instruments MASSIVE (synth) and FAST Balancer.
