Flight's Ultra Travel Series offers affordable ukulele models made of reinforced plastic (polycarbonate), so they'll survive your mood swings and the vagaries of the weather unscathed.
The polycarbonate reinforced plastic body, along with modern lattice bracing and fluorocarbon strings, give the UTS-42 soprano ukulele a clear, punchy sound that's very loud for a plastic ukulele. The fingerboard and neck are made of the same plastic material as the body.
The strings are anchored in guitar-type tuning mechanisms (Geared) and a plastic headstock. Graphic motifs/printing on the soundboard and headstock accentuate the nice workmanship. Due to the durable plastic construction, the ukulele comes in a simple drawstring case/backpack. An instructional booklet is included.
