The body of this soprano ukulele is made of laminated sapele, a wood botanically related to mahogany/real mahogany (hence it is often referred to as sapele mahogany). The natural resonance of the instrument is enhanced by the gently arched back plate of the ukulele. The neck and fingerboard of the instrument are made of African okoumé and walnut, which is also a fairly commonly used combination of woods. The strings are anchored via a bone fretboard and saddle fret in open geared tuning machines and a walnut fingerboard.
