Flight's Designer Series offers affordable ukulele models with traditional natural/design woods suitable for beginning ukulele players and ukulele players.
The DUC 523 EQ MAH is an electro-acoustic concert ukulele with a semi-solid body construction consisting of a solid mahogany top and laminated mahogany back and sides. The neck and fingerboard of the instrument are made of African okoumé and walnut, which is also a fairly commonly used combination of woods.
The sound system is provided by a Flight FU-T3 active electronics system with a preamp installed in the back of the instrument (three-band equalizer, tuner). The strings are anchored via a bone fretboard and saddle fret in chrome-plated guitar-type tuning machines (Die-Cast Geared) and a walnut fingerboard. The more economical design is enhanced on Designer Series models by a rosette in the form of a decorative laser engraving.
The ukulele comes in a stylish gig bag with an instructional booklet.
