The Fender Squier Contemporary electric bass line combines the classic shapes of the Precision Bass with modern features to cater to musicians with a contemporary sound.
The base is a body made of lightweight and superbly resonant poplar, to which is bolted a neck of kiln-dried maple. This provides both improved sonic properties and greater stability, plus a stylish vintage look. The fingerboard is then made from fig wood and features 20 narrow frets. Maximum playing comfort is guaranteed by the modern "C" neck profile and satin lacquer finish, which makes it fit perfectly in the hand. The flatter radius of the fingerboard allows fast and smooth movement of the hand across its entire surface. The higher output humbucker pickup and traditional single coil, along with active electronics, give the bass maximum sonic flexibility. Dark chrome hardware, a three-layer pickguard and a colour-coordinated bass headstock suitably complement the aesthetics of the instrument. The zero fret is made of graphite.
