The Fender Squier Classic Vibe '70s Jaguar Bass is an affordable instrument suitable for beginners and experienced bassists alike, inspired by the design of 1970s models.
First introduced in 1962, the Jaguar draws design cues from the Jazzmaster, four years earlier. It's hard to say whether this was a new attempt by Fender to break into jazz after the failure of the Jazzmaster, or a new type of instrument for the surf rock scene, but either way the Jaguar has found a following, especially in alternative rock. Produced between 1962 and 1975, it has been back in production since 1999. From the Jaguar electric guitar, Fender naturally derived its bass version, which has become equally popular.
As well as being a stylish affair at first glance, this bass has a shortened 813mm gauge and a comfortable C profile neck that makes it very comfortable to play. The Classic Vibe '70s pickup configuration brings out the best in Jazz Bass models. The pickups are carefully paired and, along with the dual volume and tone controls, deliver a wide range of sonic possibilities that can be used in any style.
