Squier Affinity Series electric guitars represent Fender's most popular electric guitar designs at a fraction of the price of the originals. This makes them the ideal choice for aspiring guitarists and musicians who would like to get a Stratocaster, Telecaster or Jazzmaster but don't want to invest a huge amount of money in buying one.
The Affinity Series Jazzmaster offers the classic offset body design of Jazzmaster guitars and a simplified control system that is especially easier to understand for beginning musicians. The instrument's lightweight poplar body is adorned with a choice of color finish and gloss polyurethane lacquer. The bolted maple neck is glued to a figured maple fingerboard, which replaces rosewood as standard on cheaper models. The fingerboard surface is divided by twenty-one Medium Jumbo frets and imitation mother-of-pearl position dots. A pleasant, narrower "C" neck profile ensures comfortable movement of the hand on the fingerboard and a good fit.
The sound character of the two company single-coil pickups in a soap bar design can be shaped using the volume potentiometers, tone shutter and three-position pickup switch. The strings are anchored in the company's chrome tuning machines and a synchronized tremolo with two-point attachment.
