The Squier 40th Anniversary Special Edition celebrates the successful 40th anniversary of the introduction of the Fender Squier line in 1982. From the early days to today, guitars and basses with the Squier logo have represented the answer to the demand for more affordable Fender instrument designs.
The 40th Anniversary Precision Bass Vintage Edition offers a number of classic features for the retro Squier enthusiast - whether the subtle faux-patina touches of chrome hardware and anodized pickguard, the anniversary engraving on the neck plate, or the all-satin finish on the body and neck.
The body of the bass, in a classic double-cut design, is made from nyatoh wood. Twenty Narrow Tall frets and black position dots divide the maple fingerboard surface. A single split-coil pickup with Alnico V magnets gives the guitar a classic "PB" sound, the contours of which you then adjust using the volume and tone shutter potentiometers. The strings are anchored by the company's tuning machines and a solid vintage-style fingerboard. The zero fret is made of real bone.
