Fender Player Series electric basses replace the popular Standard models. This is the brand's basic quality line with a clear plus in the form of price/quality ratio. Although these are not US-Made basses (they are made in Ensenada, Mexico), they are also subject to comprehensive output control.
The Player Plus Active Series models are then designed to be as adaptable as possible to the needs of modern players, while retaining the traditional design and features that have made Fender instruments so popular. So you'll find, for example, high-quality pickups with the traditional Fender sound, but with the unconventional addition of an active circuit that greatly expands the instrument's sonic possibilities.
The body of this Jazz Bass is made of the proven alder, which combined with a maple neck and a Pau Ferro fingerboard provides a traditional feel and excellent resonance. The neck is profiled as a comfortable modern C with a satin lacquer finish and rounded edges, and a sure hand on the fingerboard is supported by Medium Jumbo frets that are ideal for the vast majority of playing styles.
A pair of Noiseless Alnico pickups also work well with the body and neck materials, delivering the punchy and clearly defined sound that makes Fender basses so popular. There's also a switchable active circuit that gives you a three-band EQ in addition to traditional volume and pickup balance controls, giving the instrument even more sonic flexibility.
The hardware is also of typical Fender quality, with open drives, a synthetic bone fretboard and a solid four-stone fingerboard providing stable tuning, plus great vibration transfer to the body. The instrument comes in a high-quality Fender Deluxe gig bag.
