The Fender Player II series offers more affordable electric guitars in timeless Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar and Mustang designs. Owning a musical instrument with the Fender logo is not a privilege, but almost a necessity.
The Fender Mustang, with its characteristic offset body shape, was introduced in the early 1960s as the basic model of the electric guitar, and perhaps that's why a couple of decades later the entire alternative scene, led by Kurt Cobain and John Frusciante, fell in love with it. The alder body of the Player II Mustang MN HLY is covered in a glossy polyester lacquer. The maple neck with "Modern C" profile and satin finish and the maple fingerboard with rounded edges offer great playability. Thanks to its shorter gauge (610 mm), the Mustang will also suit musicians who have trouble keeping up with standard gauge guitars (Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster).
Two Player Series single-coil pickups with Alnico 5 magnets give the guitar a more modern Fender feel and sound that you'll appreciate in a wide range of musical styles. The character of the sound can be manipulated using the volume and tone controls and the three-position pickup switch. Stable tuning is ensured by mounting the strings in ClassicGear gears with an 18:1 gear ratio and through a solid bridge with six steel saddles through the body. The guitar's stylish look is accentuated by a bright three-ply pickguard and Hialeah Yellow finish.
