The JV Modified Series combines the classic aesthetic of Fender electric guitars with today's demands for playing comfort. The guitars in this series draw inspiration from the revered "Japanese Vintage" models of the early 1980s, and finally, the JV Modified Series instruments themselves are also made in Japan.
The lime body of the JV Modified '50s Stratocaster HSS is covered in gloss lacquer. The "Thick Soft V" maple neck profile offers a more rounded shape than the traditional '50s V. Twenty-one Medium Jumbo frets and black position dots divide the fingerboard surface.
The combination of a cob humbucker and two single-coil pickups gives the guitar the full-bodied, thick sound of humbuckers and the punch of Strat single-coils. The character of the tone can be adjusted using the volume and tone shutter potentiometers and the five-position pickup switch. The push/pull function of the second tone shutter splits the humbucker coils for a pure single-coil sound and feel.
The strings are held in the company's locking tuning machines (Vintage-Style Locking) via a bone zero fret and a traditional vintage-style synchronized tremolo with a six-point anchor. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by a practical single-ply pickguard and the company logo on the headstock.
The guitar comes in a high quality deluxe gig bag.
