The Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster Journeyman Relic is the signature model of the Eric Clapton electric guitar from the Fender Custom Shop. The two-piece ash body is finished in 2-Color Sunburst and the Journeyman Relic finish features a faux patina that adds a touch of authenticity. The one-piece maple neck was carved using the rift sawn method, making the wood very stable. The fingerboard surface is divided by twenty-two vintage-size frets and black Micarta position dots. The Soft V neck profile offers a slightly more rounded shape compared to the traditional ´50s V.
The guitar is fitted with three single-coil Vintage Noiseless pickups, which suppress electromagnetic interference arising in the region around 50 to 60 Hz. Two tone controls can be used to adjust the sound, working as a Treble Bass Expander and an active Mid Boost (up to +25 dB), a volume potentiometer and a five-position pickup switch
The strings are mounted across the bone fretboard in the company's vintage-style tuning machines and in a traditional synchronized tremolo, which is, however, locked at E. Clapton's request. The guitar's stylish look is accentuated by the signature logo on the headstock, patina hardware and a white single-layer pickguard that also protects the lacquer from scratches.
The guitar comes in a deluxe case.
