Solid-State Guitar Combo / HN193809
The Fender Champion 50XL is a larger and louder version of the well-known Fender Champ 40 transistor combo. With a power output of fifty watts, it is an ideal choice for the rehearsal room or even for home playing, where thanks to the headphone output and line aux in input you can play backing tracks from mp3/audio devices and play late into the evening or night without the risk of disturbing the neighbours.
Like the previous 40 model, the 50XL version offers two channels and a choice of built-in delay, reverb and modulation effects (chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, vibratone), while the delay and tremolo speeds can be adjusted via the Tap button. The first, clean, channel is based on the sonic character of Fender Blackface machines, while the second depends on the settings of the Voice control, which offers a range of machine simulations from the clean sound of tweed combos to rockier crunch to hi-gain metal distortion. A two-band EQ (bass, treble) is used to further adjust the tone colour.
The overmolded cabinet of the combo is covered by a black vinyl cover and a front grill cloth in black. At the heart of the box is a single 12-inch Celestion speaker. A footswitch (not included) can be connected to the combo.
