In the early 1950s, the Fender Bassman began to sound like a new invention - the Fender Precision Bass. With fifty watts, the Bassman had the volume to compete with all the instruments of the day - piano, small drum kit, brass or electric guitar.
During the 60s and 70s, this full-amp, tweed beauty became very popular with rock, country and blues guitarists. They relied on its perfect sound and ease of use. Then in the 1990s, Fender came out with a reissue of this machine, which was again a spectacular success. Many guitarists then rediscovered that plugging an instrument into a simple all-tube amp was more convenient than dealing with preamps, equalizers and various effects.
The next reissue of this combo confirms that this dynamic and rich-sounding instrument has much to offer today's modern guitarists. It's simply something that never disappoints, because it can't.
The '59 Bassman is a limited edition with a power output of 45 W. This is taken care of by 3 12AX7 preamp tubes and 2 6L6 tubes in the final amplifier. The combo is equipped with 4 10" speakers.
On the top panel we find 4 instrument inputs (2x Bright and 2x Normal). The sound of the two channels can be adjusted using the Presence potentiometers, 3-band equalizer and volume controls, which are separate for the Bright and Normal channels.
