Fender 1984 Jazz/Precision Bass Compound

Boutique Electric Bass Guitar / HN272372
An interesting instrument made from 2 pieces of related instruments by the same maker, probably assembled in the 1980s.

The neck is from an American Fender Jazz Bass model from December 1982 (Dan Smith era - a short and sought after era of increased production quality - lined fingerboard with dots only; even older type of S-Serial numbering; still vintage large mechanicals). The body is from a Japanese Squier Precision Bass model, made between 1983-84. The original owner obviously wanted a jazz bass with a precision body and P/J configuration. The bass has retained both serial numbers of the instruments it is composed of.

The bass is very comfortable. The current owner brought it back from the USA in the early 90's after finishing his studies there. A third owner is waiting for this interesting piece.

Overall condition is excellent, frets original, lacquer original. The micro tilt washer has been removed from the neck joint, it doesn't matter.

Sold with a vintage Fender case (probably originally supplied with a complete Fender JB bass). It is, of course, a second hand item in the BAZAAR VAT regime.
