ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company LTD was created to offer popular models in an affordable version. However, even in the case of ESP-LTD guitars, great emphasis is placed on the quality of workmanship and fitted components. For a fraction of the price you can have a very high quality instrument that stands behind many a famous riff.
The mahogany body of this guitar is adorned with a veneer of flamed maple and a bright binding. A glued neck made of three pieces of mahogany is joined by a fingerboard made of roasted jatoba, also known as Brazilian cherry, with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. Positioning blocks make it easy to navigate its surface.
Sound pickup is handled by two ESP Designed LH-150 humbuckers, which can be controlled by volume potentiometers for each pickup and a tone shutter that features a Push/Pull function. The latter allows you to unzip the coils of the humbuckers and enjoy a pure single-coil sound. Together with the three-position switch, this gives the guitar six different pickup connections, making it easy to set the guitar to the sound you want, whatever your preferences.
The strings are held in the stringguard and pass through a fixed bridge with adjustable string height. The precision tuning mechanisms are chrome plated like the rest of the hardware.
