The LTD EC-201/256 electric guitars with rock single-cut (LP) design are well crafted instruments that offer all the important elements of the EC series at a price that is affordable to a wide range of players, including young beginners.
The mahogany body of the EC-256 CANDY APPLE RED SATIN guitar features a Candy Apple Red Satin finish and bright perimeter binding. The narrow three-piece mahogany neck with a "Thin U" profile is glued to a roasted jatoba fingerboard with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. The fingerboard orientation is facilitated by position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl.
Two proprietary passive humbuckers give the guitar an aggressive sound suitable for contemporary rock and metal music, as well as a pure single-coil feel (thanks to the ability to split the humbucker coils). The strings are anchored in the company's tuning machines and through the TOM tailpiece in the stringers.
