Epiphone electric guitars are a more affordable alternative to the original Gibson logo guitars. The Epiphone Prophecy line turns to the present instead of the past, offering modern instruments in classic LP, SG, Flying and Extura/Explorer body designs that embrace the year of manufacture and trends in guitar design.
The mahogany body of the Les Paul Prophecy Olive Tiger Aged Gloss model is adorned with a spectacular AAA-quality maple veneer. More modern features catering to the playing comfort of guitarists are represented by the Ultra Modern Weight Relief and the asymmetrical Slim Taper neck profile for left-hand comfort and easy and quick movement across the entire fingerboard. The ebony fingerboard itself is fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets. Orientation across the fingerboard surface is facilitated by position blocks with embedded pieces of genuine mother-of-pearl (Abalone).
Perhaps the most important new feature is the guitar's custom-made Fishman Fluence humbuckers, which offer three different sound settings - the warm tone of vintage humbuckers ideal for classic rock/blues, the modern sound of active humbuckers with higher output signal, and the optimized sound of single-coil pickups. Switch between modes using the volume and tone controls with push/pull functions (Volume - coil-split, Tone - Vintage/Modern).
The strings are anchored via the NuBone zero fret in Grover Locking Rotomatics locking mechanisms and LockTone TOM tailpiece and stringers. The nice workmanship is accentuated by the color finish of the top, the bright perimeter body binding and the brushed nickel hardware.
