The Pitch Fork pedal effect from Electro-Harmonix (EHX) can transpose the tuning of an instrument over a range of three octaves (+/-), while offering three modes that allow you to change the tuning up, down and both directions simultaneously to create impressive sound effects. The desired tuning change interval can be fixed, or the tuning can be continuously changed with impressive glissandos when the expression pedal is depressed (not included).
Operation of the pedal is quite simple and intuitive. The Blend potentiometer determines the ratio of clean to processed signal, while the Shift offers eleven positions with different transposition intervals ranging from a fine 17 cent detune (Detune), to minor second (Minor 2nd), major second (Major 2nd), major third (Major 3rd), fifth, fifth, major sixth (Major 6th), minor seventh (Minor 7th), to intervals of one octave, two octaves and three octaves. The three-position switch determines the aforementioned direction of the tuning transposition, with the middle position, i.e. in the Dual mode, adding a second signal in musically useful harmonies relative to the interval setting of the first signal. The Latch button allows you to switch between Latch mode, where pressing the footswitch switches between bypass mode and active effect, and Momentary mode, where the effect is active only when the footswitch is pressed.
All pedal electronics are housed in a durable metal chassis. The box operates in buffered bypass mode. Power is supplied by the included 9V adapter or 9V battery.
