The Battalion is a bass preamp and D.I. pedal also equipped with distortion, compressor and Noise Gate. Together with the wide range of wiring options, this is a very versatile, practical and flexible pedal effect.
The preamp's four-band EQ is tuned to fully match the frequency range of the bass guitar. The controls are Bass (below 200 Hz), Lo Mid (280 Hz), Hi Mid (750 Hz) and Treble (above 2 kHz) potentiometers. The fully analogue distortion with its own Level, Blend, Drive, Tone controls and footswitch has three signal paths. It can be placed before or after the EQ, and in Dry EQ mode the EQ affects only the clean signal, producing two completely different sounds. A compressor with a toggle switch and compression intensity control adds punch and longer reverb to the instrument. Noise Gate eliminates unwanted noise, with playing dynamics and tone preserved. The Battalion is equipped with outputs for a clean, effects-unmodulated signal, a signal passing through the effects that also serves as a headphone output, and lastly, a balanced D.I. XLR output. A power adapter is supplied with the effect.
