Description of product

The Eastman Strings brand was founded in 1992 by Chinese flutist Qian Ni after graduating from the Boston University School of Music. Over the course of three decades, the company's portfolio has grown to include acoustic, semi-acoustic and electric guitars (Eastman Guitars) and with it the brand's fame, so that the company's players include such luminaries as James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers), Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth). In the case of Eastman instruments, you can rely on superior craftsmanship, demonstrated by features and techniques such as hand-reduced ribbing or individual tuning of the instrument's soundboard.

The Eastman T64/TV-RD is a lube electric guitar in the style of the popular "thinline" double-cut models ES-330 or Casino, which is sure to appeal to players with high demands on workmanship and sound quality.

The guitar's standard 16-inch-wide body is made of laminated maple. An ebony fingerboard with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets is glued to a maple neck with a pleasing "C" profile. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by mother-of-pearl position blocks.

Two P90 pickups in a dogear design (Lollar Dog Ear P90) give the guitar a warm, full yet articulate sound that you'll associate with larger single-coil pickups from the late '50s. Adjust the character of the sound using the standard controls. The strings are mounted in Gotoh SD90-Relic tuning machines and a Bigsby tremolo (US Bigsby B7 0495-B7) over a Gotoh GE104B-Relic fingerboard. The nice workmanship is accentuated by the glossy body lacquer with a subtle touch of patina (Truetone Vintage Gloss), double-sided body and fingerboard binding in imitation ivory, black lined pickguard, hardware with subtle patina elements (Relic Nickel) and pearl company logo on the headstock.
