Description of product

The Eastman Strings brand was founded in 1992 by Chinese flutist Qian Ni after graduating from the Boston University School of Music. Over the course of three decades, the company's portfolio has grown to include acoustic, semi-acoustic and electric guitars (Eastman Guitars) and with it the brand's fame, so that the company's players include such luminaries as James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers), Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth). In the case of Eastman instruments, you can rely on superior craftsmanship, demonstrated by features and techniques such as hand-reduced ribbing or individual tuning of the instrument's soundboard.

The Eastman T486B-BK is a semi-hollowbody electric guitar in the style of the popular ES-335 "thinline" models. It is a more luxurious "step-up" version of the basic T386 model.

The body of the guitar is made of laminated veneered maple. A maple neck with a nice "C" profile is glued to an ebony fingerboard with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by pearl position blocks (Split Parallelogram).

Two Seymour Duncan Phat Cat pickups give the guitar the tone and feel of P90 pickups that you'll love in jazz, blues and rock. Not surprisingly, these are P90 single-coil pickups hidden under humbucker covers. Adjust the character of the sound using the standard controls. The strings are mounted in nickel tuning machines and through a Gotoh TOM headstock in a licensed Bigsby B70 vibrato. The nice workmanship is accentuated by the double-sided imitation ivory body, fingerboard and headstock binding, black-lined pickguard and pearlescent company logo on the headstock.
