The Eastman Strings brand was founded in 1992 by Chinese flutist Qian Ni after graduating from the Boston University School of Music. Over the course of three decades, the company's portfolio has grown to include acoustic, semi-acoustic and electric guitars (Eastman Guitars) and with it the brand's fame, so that the company's players include such luminaries as James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers), Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth). In the case of Eastman instruments, you can rely on superior craftsmanship, demonstrated by features and techniques such as hand-reduced ribbing or individual tuning of the instrument's soundboard.
The Eastman AR905CE-BD-TC is a high-end lube electric guitar with a sixteen-inch wide all-solid body that is sure to appeal to players with high demands for quality craftsmanship and sound.
The front of the guitar is spruce, while the back and sides are made of carved veneered maple. Both the spruce top and the flamed maple used for the back and sides have undergone a thermo-cure process, which makes the wood more stable, similar to older instruments already won.
The maple neck with a pleasant "C" profile is glued to an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Easy matchmaking at the higher positions of the fingerboard is guaranteed by the lower body cutaway (Venetian Cutaway), while orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by pearl position markers in the shape of diamonds (Abalone).
A Lollar Floating Johnny Smith neck pickup offers the possibility of voicing. The character of the sound can be adjusted using the rotary knobs attached to the pickguard. The strings are mounted in Schaller E-M6Ga tuning machines and through an adjustable ebony fingerboard in the stringers (ebony/brass). The nice workmanship is accentuated by the glossy body lacquer (Truetone Gloss), double-sided maple trim on the body, fingerboard, headstock and F holes, ebony pickguard with exclusive snakewood trim, gold hardware and mother-of-pearl motif and company logo on the headstock.
