The Flagship range represents the first original banjo models that made the Deering brand a household name in the musician community in its early days. These are instruments with top quality workmanship designed for professional banjo players and music enthusiasts.
The Deering Siera Plectrum model is a four-string banjo specially suited for pick playing. It is most commonly tuned in C,G,B,D and its sound is most commonly encountered in jazz or folk. It is one of the so-called resonators, i.e. it has an arched mahogany cover with a white border on the back, which adds clarity and good sustain to the tone. A bronze tone-ring -06- adheres to the body made of three layers of maple (violin grade), to which an eleven-inch brass rim is attached.
The mahogany neck with two-way bracing is joined by an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two pakfong frets. Position markers in the form of decorative engravings facilitate orientation on its surface. The strings are mounted on one side in high-quality Planetary-type mechanisms, on the other side via a maple/ebony fingerboard in an adjustable Deering True Tone nickel-plated steel truss rod. Decorative engravings on the headstock, shoulder rest and decorative zinc one-piece flange complement the basic materials used both practically and visually.
The banjo is supplied in a high quality case.
