The Premier range represents the more affordable instruments in the D'Angelico portfolio, but they meet all the quality craftsmanship requirements associated with the brand.
The D'Angelico Premier Exl1 Honey Blonde is a brass guitar inspired by John D'Angelico's original single-cut design. The seventeen inch wide body offers a warm natural acoustic sound suitable for playing rhythm accompaniments and solos. A maple neck with a "C" profile is glued to an ovangkol fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Vintage-size frets. The fingerboard orientation is facilitated by position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl.
A D'Angelico Floating Mini-Humbucker at the neck position gives the guitar a beautifully warm jazz tone. The sound settings can be adjusted using the volume and tone controls.
The body of the guitar is balanced by the company's signature headstock adorned with mother-of-pearl company and Excel Shield logos. Stable tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the attachment of the strings through the Graphtech NuBone XL zero fret in Grover 109 Super Rotomatic mechanics and through the rosewood fretboard in an Art Deco style neck. The guitar's good looks are accentuated by the multi-layered body, fingerboard and headstock binding and five-ply Scalini pickguard.
The guitar comes in a gig bag.
